Our editorial promise.
Our approach to verification, contributor consent, language inclusion, corrections and the responsible use of AI.
Facts first, stories with care.
We separate verified facts, oral recollections, interpretation and opinion. Articles link to sources wherever possible. We correct mistakes rather than hiding them.
People are not content inventory
Private individuals need consent for personal profiles; images need publication rights. We do not publish children's private details, unverified accusations, personal addresses or submitted stories automatically.
All Zimbabweans, not one language
We respect Zimbabwe's recognised languages and cultural differences. We do not assume direct translations capture every nuance; community review comes before publishing sensitive cultural material.
What AI does here
AI may help an editor organise research, but published facts need verification and original value. No fabricated quotes, awards, photographs or fake applause counters.
Community contributions
Nominations are leads. Editors verify them, check consent and decide whether to publish. Readers can report errors through our correction form.
Commercial independence
Paid content will be prominently labelled. Sponsors cannot buy favourable factual treatment. Advertising must not be disguised as editorial content.
