A landscape becomes a home through the people who inhabit it. In this retrospective collection, travel from the stone cities of Great Zimbabwe and Khami to the BaTonga community of Binga, the Matobo Hills and the forests of Mana Pools. These are not attractions collected for a tourist brochure. Every place has people, languages, schools, communities and an inheritance that reaches across generations. The histories often began long before 1980; the question for OurPride is what independence-era Zimbabweans preserved, changed and passed on. Read these source-linked histories, share a place that shaped you and tell us whose local knowledge is still missing.
Facebook and LinkedIn open link previews but don't prefill your written post. Clicking either share icon also tries to copy a tailored caption with hashtags—paste it into your post. You can also use Copy LinkedIn caption directly. Instagram and TikTok copy tailored captions to paste in their apps.
Explore a community whose story goes far beyond Lake Kariba: BaTonga memory, languages, local crafts, historical displacement and cultural institutions.
