Before a young Zimbabwean receives an international award, there is usually a classroom, laboratory, workshop, school hall or teacher who quietly invested time. This special retrospective gathers stories of school jazz bands, inclusive robotics, engineering competition teams and the memory of the schools we attended. It distinguishes a national championship from international participation and it does not award unverified medals. It is also a celebration of educators and their work outside the publicity photographs. Remember a science-club teacher, an assembly soloist, a debate leader or the first time you saw a robot move? There is room in the archive for their names and dates, with the right permissions.
