On 12 November 2015, an Air Zimbabwe Boeing 737 flew from Harare to Victoria Falls with two women captains in the flight deck. Elizabeth Simbi Petros was one of those captains.

The Herald reported the moment the next day and named Petros together with Chipo Matimba. Neither aviator should disappear behind a story that credits only one person.

The achievement belongs in a chronological account of Zimbabwean aviation, the work of airline crews and the long training journeys required to captain commercial aircraft.

This is a tribute to a verifiable professional accomplishment, not speculation about her current job, private life or feelings.
