At the opening of the Paris 2024 Paralympics, Tinotenda Nicole Bango was named one of Zimbabwe's flagbearers. A flagbearer represents a whole country's sporting effort, not only their individual event.

The International Paralympic Committee recorded Bango competing in the women's T47 100m on 3 September 2024 with a time of 13.71 seconds. She did not advance to the final; a profile should never invent a medal.

What deserves recognition is earning a place on the international start list and contributing to the visibility of Zimbabwean para-athletics.

Zimbabwe's athletic history needs records of trainers, clubs and access to sporting infrastructure, along with the athletes themselves.
