Water at a school tap can be more meaningful to a community than a celebrity trophy. Rotary published the story of a cross-border project supporting St. Ludger School near Marondera.

A Rotary account dated February 24, 2026, says clubs in Zimbabwe and Nebraska combined funds for a borehole, tanks and piping expected to improve water access for roughly 550 learners and their teachers, with a nearby village also connected.

The author describes a relationship with Veronica Chirombe, a Zimbabwean education professional who brought attention to the local need. The report illustrates both local initiative and international collaboration; the 550 figure is from the organisers.

OurPride would like to revisit the facilities' maintenance, water testing and users' experiences through school-approved, privacy-conscious reporting. That follow-up matters as much as the initial donation.
