Zimbabwe's Gems travelled to Liverpool in July 2019 for the country's first appearance at the Netball World Cup. Players and supporters brought an unmistakable sense of celebration to the competition.
Contemporary Sky Sports reporting described the energy, songs and atmosphere surrounding the team, as well as the determination shown in the matches. The debut was a collective achievement involving the coaching staff, players and support network.
Future OurPride reporting should compile verified squads, match records, qualifying campaigns, provincial netball leagues and school teams so women in this sport receive the attention given to other national teams.
