Zimbabwe's men's rugby team, the Sables, beat Namibia 30–28 in the Rugby Africa Cup final on 19 July 2025 in Kampala. World Rugby confirmed the victory earned Zimbabwe a place at the 2027 Men's Rugby World Cup.

That qualification ended a 36-year absence since Zimbabwe's previous Rugby World Cup appearance in 1991. World Rugby's coverage also acknowledged coaches, teammates and support from home.

Qualification is not the same as a World Cup finals victory. The historical achievement lies in the documented continental result and the many people who made a renewed international campaign possible.
